NAAP 2011 Conference

Join us In Myrtle Beach SC for the 29th annual NAAP Conference! Amy Laughlin, BA, ADC, CDP, SC LAC It is our great pleasure to invite you to join us in Myrtle Beach, SC, March 30 – April 2 2011 for the 29th annual NAAP conference, Activities: Oceans of Possibilities. Every year the NAAP conference offers a variety of education tailored specifically for the needs of the Activity Professional, which you can find at no other conference. You have the opportunity to network with others in the field from all over the United States, Canada and Bermuda and to meet and interact with vendors we normally only see in catalogues. And next year, the NAAP conference will be held in beautiful Myrtle Beach, with the Atlantic Ocean sparkling tantalizingly only 4 blocks from the hotel! The Grand Strand has over 60 miles of golden sandy beaches and Myrtle Beach has evolved as the centerpiece of a world-class vacation destination. The city has a wide variety of family-friendly attractions, live entertainment, cultural offerings and nightlife. Visit the aquarium for close-up views of sharks, turtles and other sea life and then get even closer by touching the rays and horseshoe crabs. Racing fans can take a spin on the speedway or ride go-carts. Nature lovers will find many opportunities for fun at Brookgreen Gardens and Myrtle Beach State Park. You can pick up shells along the coast, or simply stroll the 1.2-mile boardwalk located in downtown Myrtle Beach for spectacular ocean views. Myrtle Beach offers a large selection of incredible restaurants, from casual to gourmet, including mouthwatering local seafood restaurants, excellent steakhouses and relaxed delis and coffee shops. After dark, Myrtle Beach comes alive with nightclubs, comedy clubs and live entertainment venues. There are spectacular shows offered year-round at the large theatres, including the Carolina Opry, Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede, the Grand Cirque and the One Show. Myrtle Beach is a golfers’ paradise, being voted by Golf Digest in 2008 as the overall best value for money. Myrtle Beach golf courses have each been designed to protect the natural habitat and wildlife indigenous to the area and have been created by world-famous architects -- including Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Robert Trent Jones, and Greg Norman. If fishing is your passion, you can drop your line from one of the many local piers, head out to sea on a chartered fishing boat, or try your luck at freshwater fishing along the waterway. For all you shoppers, the Myrtle Beach area has everything you could want, from large-scale malls, to designer outlets, from local craftsmen’s’ stores, to those selling the most original and eclectic Palmetto state souvenirs. Over the last five 5 years, Myrtle Beach has been voted a favorite family beach destination by The Weather Channel, tripadvisor.com, Southern Living magazine, USA Today, AAA, Yahoo Travel and Ask.com. Come and find out why as we play and shag, SC style, along the Grand Strand at the NAAP 2011 conference! See y’all in Myrtle Beach! (Go to www.visitmyrtlebeach.com and request your Myrtle Beach area Visitors’ Guide for much more information about this awesome location and don’t forget to watch the NAAP newsletter and Web site for additional updates.)
