Director of Life Engagement  

Compensation starting at: $61,807 - $82,790/year based on experience. 

 The Life Engagement Director is a high-energy, relationship-driven leader responsible for creating and implementing dynamic programs that inspire purpose, wellness, and community for residents across all levels of living. This position calls for someone who thrives on being front and center, energizing large events, connecting personally in small group settings, and building genuine relationships that make every resident feel seen and valued. 

  Key Responsibilities 

  • Design and oversee a comprehensive engagement program addressing all dimensions of well-being: social, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, physical, and purposeful living. 

  • Serve as the visible face of resident life: leading large celebrations, small group activities, and one-on-one meaningful moments with confidence, warmth, and creativity. 

  • Recruit, train, and inspire a talented team of engagement professionals and volunteers, ensuring exceptional quality and joyful participation. 

  • Manage transportation drivers, ensuring safe, reliable, and timely transport of residents to appointments, activities, and outings. 

  • Oversee daily operations of the on-site salon, including scheduling, vendor coordination, and ensuring a positive resident experience. 

  • Collaborate across departments (clinical, wellness, spiritual care, culinary, environmental services) to weave engagement into every aspect of community life. 

  • Develop personalized engagement plans informed by residents’ histories, interests, and preferences. 

  • Manage the engagement budget, calendar, and event logistics to ensure seamless delivery and continuous innovation. 

  • Ensure all programs meet safety, quality, and compliance standards. 

  

Qualifications & Attributes 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management, Gerontology, Social Work, or related field preferred. 

  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in senior living, life enrichment, or recreation leadership. 

  • Charismatic presence with the ability to confidently lead both large gatherings and small intimate groups. 

  • Strong relational and communication skills, able to connect authentically with residents, families, and team members. 

  • Proven leadership and organizational abilities; skilled at balancing creativity with structure. 

  • Passion for enhancing quality of life for older adults. 

  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, and special events.
